FAQ

How do I organize a teach-in?

View our “How to Organize a Teach-In with the Teach-In Network” page for a full description on how to host a teach-in with the Teach-In Network.

What will the Teach-In Network do for us?

The Teach-In Network will:

  • Guide you through the process of organizing a teach-in. Not sure what to do? That’s okay, we can help!
  • Provide educational resources for your teach-in.
  • Connect you with expert speakers who are willing and available to speak at your teach-in.
  • Promote your teach-in locally to our list of over 1.1 million nationwide activists.
What are toolboxes and what's in them?

Currently there are 2 toolboxes available: “Gaza, Israel, and the Middle East” and “How to Protest and Lead Nonviolent Actions.”

Inside the available toolboxes are:

  • Top-level primers
  • Ready-to-go presentation slides to make sharing information easy
  • Key articles, with quick summaries of the main points
  • Curated videos featuring experts
  • Easy-to-understand infographics
  • Social media accounts you should follow to stay informed
  • Access to expert speakers for your teach-in

The next two toolboxes, available soon, are “Ukraine, NATO, and the New Cold War” and “Nuclear War and Nuclear Weapons.”

How does booking a speaker work?

Once you have a team and a date, time and location selected, fill out the form in your toolbox.

Depending on the information you provide in the form, the Teach-In Network will work to book one or more speakers for your event. Once we have folks lined up, we will connect you directly to the speaker/s.

Does the Teach-In Network cost money?

No. Everything we provide is free. To donate to our cause, visit our donation page here.

Who funds the Teach-In Network?

The Teach-In Network is powered by the RootsAction Education Fund. RootsAction Education Fund works to educate the public about economic fairness, equal rights, civil liberties, environmental protection — and the possibilities of converting from a war economy and a war-based foreign policy to an economy and foreign policy based on social justice, human rights, and nonviolent resolution of conflicts.
